Before I left for the trip, I was given 3 challenges to complete in Luang Prabang!

Eat as much as I can at the Luang Prabang Night Market for under VND 150,000

Get a restaurant recommendation from a local, go there and have a meal.

Teach a local to say “Xin Chao Viet Nam”, and learn to say “I love Laos” in Lao.

Meet Phathana

Learn something during your trip!

So this is Phathana, a local who graciously agreed to help me complete my challenge!

He was sitting next to my table while I was having dinner one day and seemed really friendly, so I approached him and he agreed without hesitation to help me!

I love Laos in Lao is ຂ້ອຍຮັກລາວ or “khony huk Lao”. To return the favor, I taught him to say hello to all of you!
