Who better to ask for food recommendations than a local?
For my first challenge, I asked a local lady I came across on the street for food recommendations around Luang Prabang Night Market! After some intense communication through mimes, I got my directions and headed to the Good People Good Food Good Price (everything I wanted in life) restaurant 10 minutes walk away from the Royal Palace.

The restaurant was the most packed place I’ve seen to that point in Luang Prabang, although it was only 4pm. I was however seated immediately on a long table with 7 other people, and ordered a noodle soup (khao piak) by pointing.
My noodles came, I took a spoonful of soup and it tasted like heaven. Then I regrettably saw some condiments in front of me. Looking at the person in front of me, I pointed at it and then at my bowl, enquiring if I should be putting some of that into my noodles. He gave me a big thumbs up, so I did.

Long story short, I ended up with a bowl of noodles too spicy for me to ingest. I gave up and left with half of my noodles uneaten, sweating profusely, and with locals laughing at me. Be careful when adding chili to your meal please!
